# What the words mean

Every term and short form used on KinkEU, explained plainly for someone meeting it for the first time. Search for a word, or open any term on its own page.

## aftercare

What a person needs once a scene ends: water, warmth, quiet, company, being left alone, food, or simply being told they are alright. It differs from person to person and it changes from one day to the next.

Example: They agreed beforehand that one of them wants to be held and the other wants twenty minutes alone.

What it is not: Not a courtesy and not an extra on the end. It is part of the thing, and it is asked about rather than guessed, because guessing wrong is where people get hurt after everything else went well.

## artificial intelligence

Short form: AI

A computer system that makes or changes pictures, films, sound or text. On this site it is used only to say that something was made or changed with it.

Example: The photo carries an AI info label, so it was made with AI.

What it is not: Not a person and not a member. It is never the Studio's own name.

## bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism

Short form: BDSM

The umbrella term for a wide set of consensual practices between adults. It is a family of interests, not one activity.

Example: Their profile lists BDSM among their interests.

What it is not: Not a single act, and not the same as sadism and masochism on their own, which are one part of it.

## cock and ball torture

Short form: CBT

A sensation practice, listed in the service catalogue.

Example: CBT appears in their list of interests.

What it is not: Not cognitive behavioural therapy. The clinical term shares the letters and is never what is meant in this product.

## consensual non consent

Short form: CNC

A scene agreed in detail in advance, in which one person acts as though consent has not been given. The agreement, the limits and the way to stop are all settled before anything starts.

Example: They spent an evening agreeing what would happen, what would not, and how either of them would stop it.

What it is not: Not an absence of consent. The agreement is the whole thing, and without it this is not what is being described.

## consent

An agreement given freely, by someone able to give it, who knows what they are agreeing to, and who can withdraw it at any moment.

Example: They talked through what they both wanted before they met.

What it is not: Not the absence of a refusal, and not something given once that covers everything afterwards.

## deep throat

Short form: DT

An oral act in which a partner is taken deep into the mouth and throat, by agreement. It is listed in the service catalogue.

Example: DT appears in their list of services.

What it is not: Not a date. Dates are always written out in full in this product.

## dominance and submission

Short form: D/s

A dynamic where one person leads and another follows, by agreement, for an agreed time or as an ongoing arrangement.

Example: They have had a D/s dynamic for two years.

What it is not: Not the same as master and slave, which is its own dynamic.

## double penetration

Short form: DP

An act in which one person is penetrated by two partners at the same time, by agreement. It is listed in the service catalogue.

Example: DP appears in their list of services.

What it is not: Not data protection. That term shares the letters and is always written out in full in this product.

## edge play

A group of practices that can do real harm if they go wrong, among them breath restriction, blood, needles, knives, fire and electricity. The name marks the risk, not how serious anybody is.

Example: Their profile lists needles as a hard limit and wax as something they are into.

What it is not: Not a dare, and not a measure of commitment. It is also not edging, which is about holding somebody near orgasm and is a different thing with a similar name.

## Experience Unlocked

Short form: EU

What the name of this platform means.

Example: KinkEU: Experience Unlocked.

What it is not: Not Europe. The name has nothing to do with any place.

## female for male

Short form: F4M

Who a listing is for. The digit is read as the word for.

Example: The listing is marked F4M.

What it is not: Not a role, and it says nothing about who leads. It only says who the listing is for.

## finishing on the face

Short form: CIF

Finishing on a partner's face, agreed in advance. It is listed in the service catalogue.

Example: CIF appears in their list of services.

What it is not: Not cost, insurance and freight, the shipping term with the same letters. Shipping terms are never used in this product.

## girlfriend experience

Short form: GFE

A companionship style that is warm, unhurried and personal, rather than formal.

Example: Their listing describes a GFE style.

What it is not: A style of companionship, not a role and not a promise of a relationship.

## Keys

The way to pay inside KinkEU. 1 Key is 1 US dollar. You buy them, then spend them on bookings, tickets, gifts and more. KinkEU fee: 1 Key on a payment worth more than 5 US dollars, none on a smaller one.

Example: 40 Keys for a booked call, shown with what it comes to in your own currency.

What it is not: They are not money in a bank. Bought and free Keys stay in KinkEU; only Keys other members paid you may be withdrawn, where withdrawing is open to you.

## limit

Something a person will not do, or will only do under stated conditions. A hard limit is never crossed. A soft limit is possible only by explicit agreement at the time.

Example: Their profile lists their hard limits before anything else.

What it is not: Not a challenge, and not a starting position to be talked down from.

## male for female

Short form: M4F

Who a listing is for. The digit is read as the word for.

Example: The listing is marked M4F.

What it is not: Not a role, and it says nothing about who leads. It only says who the listing is for.

## master and slave

Short form: M/s

A dynamic with a deeper and usually continuous transfer of authority, agreed between adults.

Example: They describe their arrangement as M/s rather than D/s.

What it is not: Not a stronger version of dominance and submission. It is a distinct dynamic with its own rules.

## negotiation

Agreeing beforehand what will happen, what will not, what each person wants out of it, and how either of them stops it.

Example: They spent an evening on it before they met, and wrote down the parts they wanted to be sure of.

What it is not: Not haggling, and never talking somebody down from a limit. A limit stated here is a fact to build around, not an opening position.

## non binary for non binary

Short form: NB4NB

Who a listing is for. The digit is read as the word for.

Example: The listing is marked NB4NB.

What it is not: Not a role, and it says nothing about who leads. It only says who the listing is for.

## sadism and masochism

Short form: SM

Giving and receiving sensation, by agreement, where the intensity is the point.

Example: They are looking for someone who shares their SM interests.

What it is not: Not the same as the umbrella term, which is wider.

## safeword

A word or a signal agreed in advance that stops what is happening, immediately, with no argument and no explanation owed.

Example: They agreed on a word before they started, and a hand signal for when speech was not possible.

What it is not: Not a suggestion and not a negotiation. When it is used, everything stops.

## How each entry is written

Each entry says what the term means on KinkEU, gives one example of how it is used, and says what it is not when it is often confused with something else. A role is never a gender, so no entry says who holds it. An entry explains a word. It is not a guide to doing anything.

## The same words in the app

These are the definitions the app shows when you tap a term. They are written once, so the meaning here and the meaning on a profile are always the same.
