# Cookies and tracking

Version 2026-10-19

What is stored on your device, and what is not.

## There is no tracking here

There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no tracking pixel on this site or in the app. Nothing stored on your device is used to follow you around the web or to build a profile of you.

## What is stored, and why

Everything below is needed for the site or the app to work as you asked, so it does not need a separate consent.

- your answer to the question about being 21 or over, and the app region you chose with it, so that you are not asked again on every page. Both are kept for a year on the device you answered on
- that you closed the short note about cookies, so it is not shown again
- your choice of light or dark, and your language, if you choose them
- when you are signed in, the value that keeps you signed in, a small sign that you are signed in, and the record of the device you enrolled
- inside the app, a few choices of yours kept only on your device, such as the emoji you used most recently

None of these says who you are, and none of them is used to recognise you anywhere else.

## The safety check

When you join, sign in or recover an account, a quick safety check tells people apart from automated programs. It is run by the network service that carries this site's traffic, and it may keep a short lived value of its own on your device for that purpose only.

## Messages

A message we send you fetches one picture, our own logo. It is the same picture for everybody, so it identifies nobody. There is no tracking pixel in a message, and no way for us to tell from a message whether you opened it.

## Removing them

You can delete all of these at any time in your browser settings. The site then asks the age question again, and you sign in again.

## Changes

This document carries a version. When it changes the version changes, and a translation is published only when it is complete.
