# Law enforcement requests

Version 2026-10-31

How KinkEU handles orders to act against illegal content, and requests for information about members, from courts, police and other authorities.

## How to send a request

Authorities send requests through the contact form on the contact page, choosing the subject for a legal notice. A request should say:

- which authority is asking, and how we can confirm the request is genuine
- the law the request is made under
- exactly which content or account it concerns, for example the address of the page or the name of the profile
- what is asked: removal, withholding in a country, keeping data, or giving information
- for an order against content, why the content is illegal

Emergencies come first: say so at the start if a person's life or safety is at risk.

## Orders to act against illegal content

When a competent authority orders us to act against specific illegal content, we act on the order without undue delay, and we tell the authority what we did and when. Where the content is illegal in one country only, it is withheld in that country. The member who published it is told, with the reason and the ways to challenge it, unless the authority asks us not to tell them for a stated time.

## Orders to give information

When a competent authority orders us to give information about one or more specific members, we check the order and give the information it lawfully covers. We tell the authority what we did. The member is told, unless the law or the authority forbids it for a stated time.

We give information only on a request that is lawful and proportionate, and only what it covers. We do not give anybody general access to member data. What we hold, and for how long, is in the privacy policy and the data retention document. We cannot give what we no longer keep: what a member deleted is removed as those documents say.

## Keeping data while a request is prepared

An authority may ask us to keep specific data for a stated time while it prepares a formal request. We keep only what is named, for that time.

## Threats to life and child abuse

When we learn of information that suggests a crime involving a threat to a person's life or safety, we tell the police or authorities of the country concerned, without waiting to be asked, with the information we have.

Material showing the sexual abuse of a child is removed and reported to the authorities where the law requires it, and the data needed for that report is kept as the law requires.

## Requests we refuse

We refuse a request that is not lawful, that is not from a competent authority, that cannot be confirmed, or that asks for more than the law allows. We may ask for a request to be made through the proper legal channel for the country concerned. We tell the authority why we refused.

## Counting requests

The number of orders and requests we receive, and what we did with them, is published on the transparency page for each reporting period.

## Changes

This document carries a version. When it changes the version changes, and a translation is published only when it is complete.
