Why there is a unit at all
Some things on a platform have to cost something, or the loudest account wins everything. Keys let that happen with one small unit instead of a price in every currency. Whether you earn them or buy them, a Key is a digital product used inside KinkEU: it is not money, and all payments are final. Keys you spend on another member reach them, less a 1 Key fee on a payment worth more than 5 US dollars, and nothing on a smaller one. Money you pay a provider directly, in cash or through their own payment link, never passes through us.
One kind of point, not five
There is one unit for everything, so you have one number to watch instead of a handful of separate balances that each work in one place. You can see it at any time in the app. Nothing about it is hidden, there is no second currency you find out about later, and there is no level to reach or rank to hold.
How you earn them
You earn Keys for the actions listed on the Keys screen in the app. There is a limit on how many you can earn each week, so nobody collects a large balance in a single day and nobody can farm them. The app shows what you earned and when you earned it, so the number never changes without a line explaining it. Whether anything you receive here has to be declared where you live is for you to check: taxes and reporting on your own earnings are your own responsibility.
How you buy them
You can buy Keys in packages in the app, in digital currency from your own wallet, or by card when that is offered. A card payment is made on the payment partner's own page, and your card details are never entered on or stored by KinkEU. Bought Keys are added once the payment is confirmed. They are a digital product used inside KinkEU. All payments are final, and bought Keys are never exchanged back for money. Nothing here removes a right the law where you live gives you and does not allow to be removed.
What a Key can never do
Two limits are fixed. A Key cannot be sold or traded outside KinkEU, and only Keys you earned from other members can be withdrawn, never Keys you bought. And a Key can never buy a place in a search result, so nobody outranks anybody here by spending.
Your history, and nothing removed from it
Every time you earn or spend a Key, a line is written. You can open your history and read each line with its date and the balance you had afterwards, so you can always tell where a number came from. Nothing is ever taken out of that list. A correction is written as a new line saying what was corrected, which means the record can be added to but never quietly edited.
It is not money
You cannot move Keys to a bank or send them to another person for nothing. Only Keys you earned from other members can be withdrawn, within the limits the app shows, and Keys you bought never can. They work inside KinkEU and nowhere else. When an account ends, the Keys left on it are shared out at random among other members, and are never refunded or paid out. An account closed for breaking the rules keeps its Keys frozen for 365 days first, and gets them back if the closing is undone.
What things cost
Most of KinkEU costs nothing. Some actions cost a few Keys, such as sending a message request, accepting a booking or publishing an event. The app shows the price of an action before you agree to it, never after. A price goes up only after we have told you in advance. KinkEU never refunds Keys itself. Where the app finds that something you paid for did not happen, such as a request nobody accepted, the Keys come back to you on their own. Anything that helps a person stay safe stays free whatever happens to the rest.
