Version 2026-10-31
KinkEU is for adults aged 21 or over. That is the minimum everywhere, in every country and every state, even where the law allows adult material from a younger age. This document says how we keep children out, what we check, and what we do not check.
One age for everybody
The minimum age is 21 whatever app region you choose and wherever you live. No country or state has an age of its own here.
Before any page
Before any public page, we ask you to declare that you are 21 or over. If you answer no, you are not let in, and there is no way onward from that screen. If you answer yes, the answer is remembered on that device only, so we do not ask again. With the same answer you choose your app region. That answer is not joined to an account and is not used to recognise you anywhere else.
When you join
- you confirm again that you are 21 or over, and a date of birth you give must show 21 or over
- you are asked for a live face check: a short video in which you do and say what the screen asks. It shows that a real person was there at that moment and that the same person is in your profile photos
- the face check also keeps to one account for each person, so an account that was closed, including for being under 21, cannot simply be opened again
- some features ask for the face check before they open, including the AI Studio and withdrawals
The face check is done with your explicit consent, given in the app before it starts. What it keeps is described in the privacy policy.
What these checks are, and what they are not
Your declaration and your date of birth are statements you make, and you are responsible for them being true. A false answer breaks the terms of service and is grounds for closing the account.
The face check shows that a real, present person is behind an account and that the same person is in the profile photos. On its own it does not estimate your age, it never reads an identity document, and a badge never states a person's age.
Pictures put where other members can see them are also checked on our own machines for faces that look younger than our line. That check is about the picture, not about you. A profile picture, cover or gallery photograph it holds is not shown until a person on our staff has looked at it.
We never ask for an identity document, a bank card or a check against an outside database.
The age check where the law asks for one
Some places, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Australia and some states of the United States, require an age check stronger than a declaration before adult material is shown to people there. If the place you are actually connecting from is one of them, KinkEU follows that place, whatever app region you chose, and asks you for an age check by face estimate before adult material is shown to you. If you connect from anywhere else, you are not asked.
How it works:
- the age check is open to members who have passed the face check, because it is matched with the face that check verified. If you have not passed the face check, you are asked for it first
- you give your consent in the app, then record a few seconds of live video, as in the face check, in which you make the head moves the screen asks for
- on our own systems, and without sending it to anybody else, we check that a real person was there at that moment and that the face is the face verified for your account, and we estimate the age of that face on several moments of the recording
- to pass, the face must be estimated as older than a line set several years above our minimum of 21, so that an error of the estimate does not let a younger person through. The line is 25 today and is never set below 23. Several moments that match your face must be over the line, and the estimate must be clear on each of them
Until you pass, adult media that is not your own stays locked and is not delivered to you: pictures, clips, films, library items, stories and pictures in messages that are marked as adult or sensitive. Words stay readable, your own media stays open to you, and the rest of the app works as before. A pass lasts one year; after that you are asked again before adult media is shown.
What we keep is only the result of each estimate: the estimated age in years, how closely the face matched, how many moments were read and how many were over the line, the line used, the version of the estimate and the time. The recording is deleted once the check is decided. We never keep a picture or a frame of the recording with the result. The result is kept for a limited time and then deleted.
If the check does not pass:
- if the recording could not be judged, for example because it was too dark, you left the frame, a second face was in it, the moves were not made or the face did not match, you are told why and you can try again. You can send up to three recordings in 24 hours, so that the line cannot be learned by trying
- if the estimate is below the line, your account is not closed and nothing else changes. Adult media stays locked where the law asks, and you can take the age check again after 30 days or write to support. You are never asked for an identity document
Where the app region you choose is a place whose law requires an identity document to open adult sites, KinkEU is not offered there, and the app shows a page that says so.
Where you are
Some places make categories of adult material unlawful whatever the age. You are responsible for the law where you are. KinkEU applies the rules of your app region: a kind of media that is not allowed there is covered, and a feature that is not allowed there is switched off. Everything else stays open to you.
What happens if we learn somebody is under 21
An account belonging to somebody under 21 is closed. Content they published is removed. This is not a penalty and there is no appeal that turns on how nearly 21 somebody is: the line is the line.
If you believe somebody here is under 21, report it. A report about age is treated ahead of the ordinary queue. Material that shows a child is removed at once and reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
People shown in what is published
Everybody shown in material published here must have been 21 or over when it was made. Nobody may publish material that presents an adult as a child, or that is made to read as a child, whatever the age of the person in it, and whether or not everybody involved consented. Members who publish sexually explicit material keep proof of age and consent where the law asks a producer to, as the terms of service say.
Adult media is covered until you choose it
Adult media is never a profile photo, a cover or a picture on a public page. A member sees adult media only after choosing to see it in the app's settings. Until then it is covered.
Parents and carers
If you care for a child, the controls built into phones, computers and browsers can block adult sites, this one included. If you believe a child is using KinkEU, report it or write to us through the contact form.
What this document does not do
It does not make anybody safe, and it does not tell you that the people you meet here are who they say they are. Verification, where you see it, states one checked fact and is never an endorsement of a person or of their conduct.
Changes
This document carries a version. When it changes, the version changes, and the version you accepted is kept alongside your account. A translation is published only when it is complete: you are never shown a half updated version of this document in your own language.
